Another drug dealing conviction for your local policing team
Your local policing team have secured another conviction for drug dealing offences in Victoria. Jonathan Johnson, of Westminster, was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court at the end of November having plead guilty to a lesser role in Possession with Intent to Supply offences. He received a 2 year sentence, suspended for 18 months, along with a victim surcharge and a drug rehabilitation order. This conviction came following Johnson’s arrest on Vauxhall Bridge Road by local ward officers in July of this year, as part of Operation Varenna. Officers undertook a long tour of duty on the day to ensure he was charged and remanded; he remained in custody until his sentencing on 24th November. Johnson was a well-known presence around Victoria for a number of years; his conviction is another disruption to the supply of drugs in the area, as well as a path of rehabilitation for Johnson. These kinds of convictions are not possible without the information provided by residents and businesses, so thank you for your ongoing support. Our operation to tackle drug dealing around Victoria continues at pace, and we expect to see more convictions and sentences in the coming months.”
